Google SEO Guide Made Simple:
For the Ones Who Never Dabbled with SEO but can Understand it.
Google SEO Guide: First off, what is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. The practice of SEO means optimizing you’re website pages for search engines (like Google and Bing) to understand your content. Google and Bing need to understand your content because when someone (we’ll call them Bill) searches for something, Google will search the whole internet for which content is the most relevant for what Bill is looking for.
Google works hard to update Google SEO search methods, because they want to be a good searching service. You work hard to make your website pages be a good service and provide Bill with what he’s looking for.
How To SEO:
SEO is pretty easy when you follow the important guidelines. There are many plugins you can download to help you meet Google’s desires, but you could just remember them and get them by heart from this SEO blog.
How Many H2 Tags for SEO:
There’s no right answer for how many h2 tags for SEO you should use, but whatever keyword rank you are trying to achieve, should be in at least 2-3 h2 tags. 5-7 h2 tags will increase your chance of rankings, but appears a bit spammy and unfitting. But if the shoe fits, by all means, wear it.
H1 tags for SEO:
H1 tags for SEO are only 1 per page. Google recognizes only one h1 tag (which you want to be your main keyword) any extra h1 tags on a page will penalize you.
Most Important Things For Google SEO Guide:
The most important things for SEO, that is what will be most effective for your page rankings, are pictures alt tags. You know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, the same applies for SEO. Google likes when you have photos on your page, I would use at least 3 photos per page if you want them to rank.
Now what are alt tags? Alt tags SEO is where you tell google what this picture is of. For alt tags SEO, think of each tag as another keyword you’d like to rank for. For example: If you are a landscaping business in Miami Florida, and you put a picture of a beautiful home with a fresh trimmed grass, your main keyword might be “Landscaper Miami”, but what if the person types in “Landscaper South Florida”? Well that’s where we use alt tags seo.
Are Alt Tags Important? Google SEO Guide:
Yes they are, now you can reach new search terms that should be mentioned at the least once throughout the content of your page. So when on that landscaping picture you have on your website, the alt tags should read, “landscaper miami, landscaping miami, miami landscaping company, florida landscaping, best landscaper in miami,… etc”. You can put whatever variations of the term in here that you think have high search volumes or words you’ve done your research for that you know will get you more business.
I also put whatever alt tags I have in my description tags, I believe this helps ranks, definitely won’t hurt. As well as alt tags, you’re title tag should contain your main keyword, but you can also put whatever else in it too as long as it’s separated by commas.
Meta Title and Description Google SEO Guide:
You’re meta and title description should contain your main keyword. The title should have it at the beginning and the description just needs it somewhere throughout. Title’s shouldn’t exceed 60 characters, and descriptions recently changed to a 280 character description.
Internal and External Links Google SEO Guide:
Each page should contain at least one internal and external links for SEO. An internal link is a link to another page on your website, an external link is to a different website. Google likes this because it shows them that you’re trying to give the user the most information he’s looking for.
Other Important things For Google SEO Guide:
For google SEO ranks, the main keyword you want to rank for should also be somewhere in your first paragraph, and each paragraph you right should not exceed 150 words. Also, back to h2 tags, which also are referred to as subheadings, are separators of the paragraphs. There should never be more than 300 words following an h2 tag without another one in between. So h2 tag, 300 words, another h2 tag, 250 words, another h2 tag, 130 words, doesn’t matter. As long as 300 words doesn’t follow one h2 tag with out another following.
Speaking of 300 words… Your page should also be more than 300 words if you want it to be effective for Google SEO ranking.
You also want the word written out at least 5 times throughout your page and in the url of the page. So if you want the keyword “Miami Landscaper” your site should read “www.techfortacos.com/miami-landscaper/”
